A Last Word

Dear all

The last day of the year seems as good a time as any to put in a final note to this.  Further to my last post, we received a couple more payments which, amazingly, pushed the final amount collected over the £1,000 pound mark!  Wonderful news!  Now, what shall I do next year…?

Happy New Year to you all and God bless!

Julie

Funds Raised

Just this week, we were delighted to send off a cheque to CMA Ladies UK for £904 and I understand that another cheque for around £20 will be on its way shortly.  We are so thrilled that we managed to raise so much and look forward to it providing many more Bibles and supporting the overseas missionaries with the transport that they need.  Thank you all again so much for your generosity.

Blessings!

August 20th – The Event

Well, August 20th finally arrived and… I DID IT!!

To see how I got on, photos of the churches along the way and full details of the day itself, PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW (I am rather better at word documents than all of this new-fangled bloggy stuff…).

But, please, first let me say THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who helped, supported, encouraged, prayed and, of course, sponsored along the way!  And if you didn’t get round to sponsoring yet and you would like to, do please feel free to go to the Charities Aid Foundation and use their link.

So, how did it go?  Well, …  August 20th – The Event

Estimated Journey Times

I have planned out my estimated times, allowing for around 15 minutes stop at each church for greetings, pictures etc.  Clearly, these are very approximate, allowing for weather, traffic and me probably getting lost a few times!  (Those of you who know me know all about my legendary sense of direction)!  If churches would like to let me have a mobile number, if someone is going to be at a particular church, I can always text ahead if I am on schedule, running behind/ahead and so forth.

You can see the estimated times by clicking on the link below.  Thank you again for all of your support!

Estimated Journey Times

Hello world!

As a member of the CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association), an organisation that reaches out to bikers and non-bikers everywhere, I am planning a solo charity Bike Pilgrimage.  I will be covering a route of roughly 120 miles around Norfolk and Suffolk, stopping at churches along the way.  I hope to raise funds to cover the printing of Biker Bibles (New Testament Bibles) and also to support World Horizons, a charity which supplies off-road bikes to missionaries in third world countries, where travel is very difficult.  If you would like to sponsor me, please visit the Charities Aid Foundation website at  https://www.cafonline.org/Default.aspx and click “Donate Now”.  Enter “Christian Motorcyclists Association” in the “search” box and then click on “Christian Motorcyclists Association” (as opposed to Devon and Cornwall Branch) to donate. The minimum donation is £5, you can choose to be anonymous if you wish, you can choose Gift Aid, and you can type in special instructions (such as “Julie’s Bike Pilgrimage”), so that they will know the reason for the donation.

I am setting up this blog to keep a record of the event, planned to take place on Saturday August 20th.  A route map will follow shortly and I plan to add pictures of me and the bike at each of the churches I stop at on the way (to prove I was there!) and also to enter some information about each church.

I hope to update this again soon.  Thank you for reading this far!

Blessings

Julie
